I was delighted to hear about the possibility of building a monument to one of Irelands great historical figures,John Devoy.As Devoy,s biographer,I have long regretted the lack of a proper monument to this extroninary figure who was born before the Famine,and who lived to see the foundation of the Free State.

John Devoy surely is one of County Kildare,s greatest sons.Itis fittingthat his home town and home county should consider memoeializing him in a special way.
