John Devoy's Possessions
Presently we have in our possession, Seven original letters written by John Devoy to his childhood sweetheart Eliza Kilmurray and Eliza's niece Mary Jane Curley, five of which are in his own personal handwriting and two which were typed.
Also there is a copy of Recollections Of An Irish Rebel, written by John himself. It was sent from Devoy's publishing company, The Gaelic American, to Mary Jane Curley.
I have also been promised from Tony Dunne, a fountain pen which was presented to John Devoy by Annadale Lawn Tennis Club during his return to Ireland in 1924. Tony has also promised an autograph book which was owned by john,s niece Eileen and signed by John Devoy.
WE ARE CONSTANTLY SEEKING ANY INFORMATION ON JOHN DEVOY WHICH MAY NOT YET HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED IN THE FORM OF LETTERS, NEWSPAPER ARTICLES, POSSESSIONS ETC. ETC. WHO KNOWS, THERE COULD BE SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT IN YOUR ATTIC.
